Honestly, I was on their page and ready to pony up a donation because it seemed to be a worthy cause...

but then I began reading.... and the things I was reading didn't sit so well with me....I just feel that more could be done by the organization... I understand even non-profit organizations need to fund their cause but it just seems like so little of it gets to the source that needs it most... the children

I also understand that it takes a lot of money to create a video that can grab so many peoples attention so strongly! BUT after reading many of the critics to this group it does seem very shady. I think their suggested action is still great! BUT if they are taking large portions of profits for themselves then as far as Im concerned they can go to hell with Kony! Dont use the face of charity for your own personal gains.

Thank you for posting that. Sums up how I feel, but much more eloquently.

The problem with their suggested action is that it can fuel more violence. The best thing that can be done is rehabilitation efforts for the people involved. Perpetuating armed conflict doesn't help anyone. Dumping money into a situation without an understanding of how it will be used doesn't help either. Honestly I think they should have their tax-exempt status taken away.

So if we can't go in a totally, completely, and conclusively "clean house" and get rid of everyone who is committing atrocities then it's just not worth doing anything? Sounds like a cop out.

Go to Gaza and ask Palestinian families what our ~$3 Trillion dollars in foreign aid to Israel, has aided. How about, we stop the atrocities we directly or indirectly commit and/or support? If that can be accomplished, then let's act like we can be moral policemen of the world.

By pulling funds? So not supporting is actually supporting...makes sense

You said: "How about, we stop the atrocities we directly or indirectly commit"

How would you propose we do this? I assumed you meant by pulling funding.
