i think it's the diet, and also i believe we americans put a lot more hormones in the animals we eat to help with the growth

at 6' i'm the shortest out of 90% of my male cousins (i have 10 male cousins). sure, i think genetics play a big factor as my uncles and aunts are all fairly tall (average 170cm for male, 167cm for females) for their generation. my grand uncle was 189cm tall, and for a CHINESE person who was born in 1919, in china, that's pretty damned tall.

as for konrad's statement: i ALWAYS lose a good amount of weight when i travel abroad for work: in HK i would walk about 2~3 miles a day to see customers, in China i would walk a lot less of course (because i don't want to get run over by some car), and in Japan i walk about 3~4 miles a day depending on where i go. in the UK i was walking a good 2 miles minimum even though i was taking the tube everywhere.

 

It really depends on where you eat. There are some really bad Korean restaurants out there. I don't think there are many Korean restaurants in PA and where there's little competition the restaurants tend to be bad.

 

It's all good...*G* well, most of it...

I was raised in San Diego but my family background is Dutch-Indonesian... The food my mother used to make was awesome... all my friends wanted to eat over all the time... all kinds of good stuff, and hot stuff...

I've been all over the world a few times... there's maybe 2 percent of foods I tried and won't have again, but the other 98 percent was way good...

Now, I'll try almost any kind of food... maybe that's why I'm sorta rolly polly... but happy...*G* and not too cynical...

That's pretty crazy Scot. Most of my Asian friends are taller than me and I'm also 5'11. Maybe they're taller in Cali, who knows?

Sidenote - I don't think I have ever met/seen (besides on tv...Yao) an asian person taller than me.

 

Actually I think turbo_pwr is about the same height as me..........I do have a handfull of oriental (i call them oriental, not asian...shoot me) neighbors..... maybe the water out here stunts their grown?
