Default Krazik and other moderators - when did it become OK to post political messages again?

There seems to be a recent surge in political posts and threads (I count two distinct threads by EVOVII right now) in the last few days.

Did I miss something?

I'd love the opportunity to have an intelligent political discussion but I thought that was strictly taboo.

Considering the rather tense times right now, what is the rationale for no political postings? Headlights can have zealots, why not ideas? And, De Hapa, isn't your sign off kind of political/religious/nationalistic/militaristic?

It seems to me that this entire thread is now political. The act of considering something that someone said is political and the act of censoring that statement is political. I think this type of censorship is wrong. While we are at it, my response is political because I have just questioned the authority and right of the moderators to deem something political, therefore I must be censored and this thread must be closed.

On the other hand, I feel that I am just exercising my right to free speech and therefore, if this post is censored in any way, it would violate my constitutional rights.

Does anyone have an argument to the contrary?

The right to free speech isn't something that s2ki.com has to recognize or facillitate. They may choose to, but they're not required to.
