This is the biggest calendar that I've ever seen.

I climed on top of it and I must say it was about 9 times easier going up than coming down. The angle appears much more acute when you're on top.
Anyways, there are 91 steps on each side. Add those to the platform (where all the people are standing) and you get 365. Not bad for a culture that supposedly didn't have the wheel.

Several years ago the company where I worked was having their annual stockholders' meeting in Ixtapa. I designed a coin for the people who attended: on one side was the company logo and on the other side was a pyramid just like this one. We made dies and coined silver blanks. I have one of the coins. If I can get a picture of it I'll post it here.
I was there about two years ago. They were talking about not allowing visitors to climb, obviously they haven't don that yet.
And yes, getting down is a lot harder than getting up.
Knowledge, did you go to Cancun or Cozumel.

I went to Cancun. I wanted to go to Cozumel but I don't own any SCUBA equipment. I was worried about the upkeep and quality of the equipment in Mexico, so I just decided to snorkel instead. In all honesty though, I'm really in to ruins so Cancun was a great place to go!
