Teams still won't be able to zone the Lakers. If they do, Kobe will kill them. Doubling Shaq is pointless if you watched the Finals, and the Lakers shooters are on. This Lakers teams would give the old Bulls teams fits.

And if Kobe thinks he's the most important player on the Lakers, he's sorely mistaken. As long as the Lakers have Shaq, they are in good shape.

Also, I lost a ton of respect for the West this year. I think the Sixers, Bucks, and a Magic team with Hill are all better then the West. The West might have some better talent but what a bunch of cry babies and they are heartless.

If a depleted Sixers team could give the Lakers problems, where the heck did Portland, Sac, and the Spurs go.

Well, only 100 days till training camp.

Doubling Shaq next year will work because you can deny him the ball. Once he get's the ball then it's business as usual. Remember there is no longer any illegal defense. Can you imagine the twin towers sitting there preventing entry passes? Yikes. As for Shaq, on defense he can now do what he loves the best. He can park there in the lane and just block shots and rebound. No more going out on pick and rolls. Sweeeet. Sixers give Lakers problems? Come on man. They lost 4 in a row to the Lakers, and three in a row on their own floor. Portland and San Antonio are tough teams. Those guys are good.

what does everyone think abuot our chances this year...?

for those who don't know...

.. we acquired:
mitch richmond (wiz)
lindsay hunter (*ucks)
samaki walker (purrs)

.. we lost:
ho grant (olrando)
ty lue (wiz)
JR rider (like he was ever on our team anyways)

I think adding richmond inplace for rider is a really good addition for us.. richmond (if he can stay tip top shape) got crazy, hella, twisted, mad, incredible, indelible, fresh, dope, stupid skills... he can do everything.. plus he's a veterano..

walker in the preseason... didn't impress me.. but we'll see

hunter...he had a good 3pt fg percentage last year...
i wonder how he'll fare with the shaq in the post kicking it out to him every once in a while..

i think we're gonna miss grant with his good D and his very dependable 15 footer J's from by the sidelines...

have you heard about shaq? remember after they won the ring, how he said he'll come back to camp in shape under 300lbs? last reported, he's 339 lbs!!! he needs to stay away from those crunch bars b4 he crunches the hardwood floors... but i think he'll work himself into shape throughout the season..

kobe.... he was incredible at the first game in the preseason...although his shot from the 3 pt line was good, when he was shooting fadeaways and shooting jump shots around 10~20ft from the basket, he wasn't that great meaning his legs need better conditioning..

fox and horry was good too.. dunno about fox's nappy ass do tho..

hmmm...who else, if you didn't know, d-fish and mad dog are still recovering from surgery...d-fish expected at the end of the year in dec or jan of '02 .. i have no idea about mad dog

did you see george? what a disappointment again...
maybe it's too early to tell, but if he doesn't do well this season, he's gonna get traded or cut from the team

MED dog or slava was pretty good on O but his D was still suspect in the first game of the preseason..

HARPER! where are you!!! i miss you dog!! he provided so much needed leadership throughout the whole conflict deal between kobe and shaq.. and schooled kobe on what he should do better when on the court last year.. hope he comes back!

i don't know who else forgot....maybe others can shine the light on this topic..

can't wait for the damn season to start so i can max and relax infront of the tv screaming obsenities at the TV scaring my little sis and my mom jumping up and down with left arm in the air and my left arm on my side holding my XXth bottle of beer....drunk

i'm so exited!!

what are all your thoughts about the lakers this year?
other team?
who's gonna be the lakers biggest challenge??

i know tonight's game was a preseason game so i shouldn't be really disappointed but...

i can't beleive how bad we got our asses handed to us tonight.

GOOD LORD! our scrubs SUCK!
penberthy, fontaine, cornell - are you guys for real??

simpkins - all you did was take up space

crispin - made bad mistakes, but at the end of the game when it didn't really matter, he got things going.. his D was pretty good

Med dog - you need to bulk up and learn to be prepared to catch the ball.. too many turnovers on not being able to catch the ball.. do u think you're iverson? pass the damn ball sometimes! but good steal at the end of the game

^^^^ all the above suck so hard...

as for everyone else:

walker- he did so much better than the last game.. i thought he played like a scrub last game...this game he was more patient, aggresive and comfortable. not a horace grant, but i like it that he's young and still have potential to get better

hunter - i'm so glad we got this guy.. his 3pt shooting ability is really good. (37% CAREER 3pt shot percentage)

richmond - is this guy really playing with pain? hehe he was really good just like the last game..

george - i think he still has potential.. he just needs to be a lot more aggressive...and stronger!

kobe - you are the man.. when you're in we're making runs, when you're out.. we saw what happened

this is how the coaches subbed the game today...

1st half - the players most likely to play during the regular season got to play. it was so fun to watch..they were playing pretty good...w/o BIG SHAQ and d-fish...wonder what'll happen when we get both of them back.. hehe

2nd half - chances for the scrubs to prove themselves... sorry, but i think all you guys trying to make the team, don't even deserve the chance.. jeezus you guys suck

as for the warriors - who knows more about this richmond guy? he was balling tonight.... am i tripping or is this guy a rookie?

i was just thinking..

the triangle must be really hard to learn because all the new players except a couple of them just look lost on the court
