Default LCD Desktop recommendations?

One of the guns in my 21" trinitron went out. Its a beast though - weighing in around 80lbs., which would be difficult to ship off to get repaired. While I'm looking for local repair shops, I'm also curious to know what your thoughts on LCD desktop displays are? Keep in mind, most of the time I'm either running at 12x10 or 16x12 on the 21" monitor in front of me.

Gaming = not a necessary requirement but would be nice, as LCD's are a fixed resolution, it should be gamable.

Color quality = should be a big determination, I'm not a graphic designer by any means, but I do webwork which does require a bit of color matching and contrasts.

Picture quality = I dont want a dimmed out LCD display, so brightness will play a big part.

I'm also thinking, if I did this, I'm sure the A/C bill will not be as high, leaving that 21" monitor on all the time takes a big drain on cooling this place.

The big question is, how much are you willing to spend? Decent 21" CRT's are rediculously cheap these days, particularly when compared to good/big/hi-res LCD's.

a 21" CRT is pretty much close to a 19" LCD, so I'll probably be looking for something relatively inexpensive. I'm not looking for anything >$1200.
