I think I might just try and sell as much as I can and then put the heaviest stuff in my car that can fit and ship the lighter bulkier stuff.

This is FedexAl. Here's a link that might help you get an estimate for shipping FedEx: http://www.fedex.com/ratefinder/home?cc=US&language

either rent a big pickup and car dolly, or ship the stuff in crates on a pallet. You can ship a lot of stuff on a pallet for $500.

I think I will just try and use UPS or Fedex or something. Maybe even USPS.
Gonna try to sell as much as possible, then stuff my car with the heaviest stuff to save on shipping and ship the bigger bulkier things.
As long as I can sell my TV before going won't have to ship anything that is that big really.

honestly you would be better off with a freight company, your stuff is more protected inside a crate rather than some cardboard box, plus there tends to be less hubs/less loading and unloading from trucks i.e. less handling, cutting down the chances of your stuff getting broken. and i would definately shop around like some of the previous suggestions, they're more likely to fight for your business on price than fedex freight/ups freight. i bought my tv off amazon and they shipped it through CEVA and they were awesome. No clue how much it was though.

How many pounds do you estimate you'll ship? Here are some estimated weights:
1 medium box with books ~35lbs
1 large box with clothing ~45lbs
