is it legal to wear a race helmet on the street?

This just popped into my head and I'm just curious....

As long as it does not block your hearing or field of vision then I would think yes

Not much different than full face motorcycle helmets right?

I mean why would it be illegal to protect yourself more?

Yeah I always wondered this too. I wanted to do it in the summer time while I was stuck in traffic with my racing helmet on.
