Default Legal Road Rage ? (Long)

I was on my way into work this morning, driving perhaps more spirited than was wis for the load of traffic, whn I needed to change lanes. This driver in a rather large Pickemup Truck being the enforcer of all that is right and safe, upon seeing my turn signal, spings into action to engage his moral duty, decides to speed up so that there is not enough room between himself and the car in front of him for me to pull into that lane, all the while traveling at speeds in excess of 75 MPH.

In a moment of stupidity, I decided that I was going to sqeeze into that space regardless of his current occupation of it. (the fact that he had about 6,000 pounds on me meant nothing at the moment). I pulled left, he backed off, (It was eather that or cause a nine car pileup at 75+ MPH).

Well, needless to say, he didn't like that very much so he started making all these faces, and turning several shades of purple. He also continued to excelerate puting his nose veryy close to my a$$.

In an instant of even greater stupidity, I brake checked him.

He then starts fumbling through his glove box or console or what ever looking for something.

The thought that I was about to get shot at 75 MPH returned my to sanity instantly.

I pulled out of his way let him pass and flashed him the peace sign. Well, it was at that point he showed my just what he was so feverishly looking for that he almost tail ended another car.

HIS BADGE!!!

I flash the peace sign again, and he then shows me his cell phone. I wonder if he is trying to pull me over, but he just speeds off. What a jerk.

Now I admit that I am a victem of my temper when driving. I try to aknowledge this and correct it whenever possible. But is really pees me off whan I am trying to make a lane change and some feels it is there responsibility to see that I don't. It even pees me of more that this behaviour is coming from a COP who is supposedly above all that. What pees me off most though, is that a cop would engage in such a provoking manuver, and then hide behind his badge, and a threat of "reporting" me as if he were innocent.

I could go on, yada yad yada... but from here on out it would be aimless rant so I leave you to ponder the question.

Are the police above the law?
