letter from "Research Design Specialists" - is it a scam?
I got something in the mail from Research Design Specialists of Cypress, California saying I would "Earn $150 for Giving Your Opinions on Vehicles!".
Has anybody had any experience with these people? If it's not a scam, it sounds like fun.
It begins,
"You are one of a select group of vehicle owners who may be eligible to participate in a vehicle evaluation. The evaluation is taking place in the San Francisco area and is sponsored by manufacturers who are very interested in your opinions about new vehicle concepts. Those who participate will receive $150 for about 2 1/2 hours of their time. The project will take place in March. This is a legitimate research project. We are very interested in your opinions. There will be no sales pitch and your name won't be given to any salespersons or mail order firms. You can have an impact on future vehicles!"
Then they identified me as an S2000 owner, and said that primary drivers of select vehicles can participate - Audi TT, the nicer BMWs, S2000, Jag XKR, Range Rover, Lexus SUVs, the nicer Benzes, & all the Porsches.
So what's the deal? Anyone know?

I agree. Just thought I'd share his thoughts, since he has done one of these.
I could mindlessly fill out surveys in exchange for driving some fast cars. Of course, my goal would be to make my passenger scream (usually easy), piss his/her pants (pretty tough), or say "oh god" in a manner that implies he/she fears for his/her life (quite hard) at least once. All 3 in one trip would be a bonus.
