Lexus IS300.....
I know this is off topic, but I need some help. My wife is in love with the IS300 and I am most likely going to get it for her. The only thing is it is a dog (slow). I know it has the same engine as the supra and I was wondering if anyone here can direct me to some helpfull chat boards or performance sites that have mods I can do to the engine. I want to boost the horsepower to around 275 at the very least. Thanks in advance....
hey i can help... im a gs300 owner and it has the identical 2jz-ge engine as the is300. although while stock the thing does lag but if you go to swift-racing.com you will see that a super charger is out for it. also you might want to visit clublexus.com im a member of that site and they are also very helpful. well i dont know if you wife is gonna want to drive stick but the 5spd is300 is due soon and im sure will perform way better than the e-shift version. also there are many tunners for lexus like l-sportline and TRD that will mostly do suspension work.

My best friend just picked-up an IS 3 weeks ago. . . Here's my objective review:
The exterior styling is "A+" : clean, sharp lines with a very "tough" look. . .
Get the 17" wheels. . . The 16's aren't great looking. . .
IMO, the interior styling is a "B" at best and needs work. . . Though the dash is very stylish, the combination of fabrics, and design styles (i.e., plastic dash, leather & neoprene seats, simulated wood trim, and polished aluminum accessories) gets "old" very quickly. . .
The engine runs Lexus smooth, the list of features goes on and on & the ride is significantly more forgiving than the S2K. . .
Bottomline. . . For the money & distinctive styling, I'd buy it in an instant instead of a 325 or 330. . . However, unless you need it today, I'd wait for the 2002's to be released to see what improvements are made. . .

Actually, if the decision was solely up to me, I would be going for the S4. A simple addition of a $500 chip and the thing is at 310 HP. That will put it in the M3 range. I REALLY love that car, but my wife thinks it looks like a "honda accord or something".
ohhh...and Silver, nope, I will put the IS outside in the rain before I would give up your spot(I guess I gave away why up above)
