Hey... You tell us

I have memories of a lot of high performance cars Jags Lancias an MR2

Back in the mid 70's I have fond recollections of a Daytona Yellow Ford Capri V6 3000GT. Black vinyl roof. Considered a brute in it's time. Notoriously tail happy especially in the wet.A lot of people killed themselves in it. I remember some very close calls
Top speed was about 124 mph with a 0-60 time of high 7s. Doesn't seem so impressive now looking back.

I suppose the Capri was a sledgehammer to crack a nut whereas the s2000 is more of a precision scalpel! I think I've arrived yes.

My last one was a 91 CRX Si. All of the basics: cold intake, full exhaust, fully modified suspension, rims, bodykit, JDM motor swap. You name it, I had it done. Yes, I was a ricer! Now, I just can't bring myself to sell it. It's just sitting in the garage collecting dust. I put so much time and money into it, I now feel guilty parking my S2k next to it. I feel like I'm cheating on it! But oh the thrill I get from driving the S2k, makes all the guilt go away!

Whoa... Way too many cars too list, here is a few that were special, in the mid to late 80's.

1) A very fast 63' VW bug with original sliding rag top (not covertable).

2) 80' Honda Civic (CVCC) 5 spd with Monza exhaust, I use to take it out on Friday nite cruz nites and race slower cars and beat them for the most part.

3) Original mint condition 1972 Chevy Chevelle SS 396 with the Hurst 4 speed with cowl induction. a very, fast car in the straight line.

In 1966 I bought an MGB from a Dr. from PA who had the car maintained by Mario Andretti's mechanic. Black hardtop with porthole windows. Lots of fun
In 1969 I got a 390cc Javelin. By 1972 I had really built it. The last mod was 440 gears in the rear end. Ran an 11.99. Three weeks later the gas crisis hit and gas went from $.25 to $1.50/gal overnight and rationing was put in.
I had a little british fiberglass car that weighed about 700 lbs. It was called a Berkely and has a chain drive 650cc Royal Enfield motorcycle engine. It did not have a fuel pump, which made for some interesting hill stories.
Prior to the S I had a 1995 Eagle Talon turbo with some mods that was very fast but did not handle eneywhere close to the S.
I now have an 00 S2000, #3132 and I dont think I will ever find a car I love as much.

01 S2000
90 Chevy Sprint Convertible (got me hooked on ragtops)
79 Chevy Bel Air 4 door sedan
75 Pontiac Astre (yes, it burned oil)

And the Sprint is my emergency car now
One redeeming feature during the ownership of the pre-S2000 cars was the many driving courses taken to keep my need for speed in reign. Another was taking F-18s above M1 or doing ACM.

77 Silver 350 4sp Camaro - Fastest car in my HS

89 White 5sp Escort GT -Didn't have much money when I graduate college. Oh the rattles...

91 White 5sp Z24 - 140k miles, no troubles, loved the torquey V6

85 Black Corvette 4+3 - Headers, Chip, Cat-Back. Very fast; this car demanded a great deal of respect. Do *not*jump on the gas in a second gear corner.

98 White 5sp Z24 - Daily driver 62K miles so far, not a single repair

2001 Spa Yellow S2000 - It doesn't scare me like my Vette did, but I love the handling.
