Life in Perspective
Well the last week has been one of great joy and sorrow.
The joy came last night when Charlie called to let me know that his wife would be coming home from the hospital. My wife like Michelle suffers from colitis and we were very concerned about her situation and were very happy to hear that she would coming home and that there would be no need for surgery. This truly was the highlight of the day.
The week leading up to last night proved a bit more sad. I had a friend, Mike, that my wife and I had been close to for 26 years. His wife pased away in a car wreck 7 years ago.
Mike came to us in early Dec. and told us he had cancer. It proved extremely aggressive and after 8 months of fighting he lost his battle last week at the age of 52.
I guess the reason that I am posting this is that I found it amazing how much one day can mean in your life, so live everyday to its fullest.
PS dbw, if you read this I saw your post on your mother passing, I am truly sorry for your loss.
PPS gregstevens, I was heartened to read of your beating this ugly disease. It's good to see that it can be beat.
Just the rambling of a middle-aged, slightly over-weight, balding guy.
