Want real heat?

Visit the Sahara Desert.

When I was there it was 130 degrees -- now that's hot!

[But it was a dry heat. ]

Which country were you in? I backpacked through Dogon Country in Mali (right outside of Timbuktu) during dry season in December of last year and the weather never really got hotter than 90 or 95.

France, along with many other countries voted yes to our first invasion in 1991 and never got militarily or financially involved (even though they were extorting Arabs out of their oil along with Britain and the U.S. since the 1920s).

Poor French - they give a whole new meaning to "French Fries."

Sorry Lee,
Have to disagree with you, they have been helped by the United States repeatedly throughout history . They chose to not shed blood with the brave soldiers who went , and now they want to profit from the rebuilding of the oil fields . BS no way, who needs them they have no export that we could do without.

What does the U.S. bailing the French out of World War 2 have to do with our recent invasion? A LOT of countries voted against our attack, and for good reason. Even the U.N. weapons inspectors were against the attack, and guess what - no weapons of mass destruction. Big surprise.

At least you acknowledge that the invasion was primarily for economic gain, many people who supported the war actually thought it was to "free the Iraqi people" and "remove a tyrant from power." LOL. Obviously a certain amount of knowledge about the United States' history of foreign policy is lacking around this country.

And of course you, Lee355 know everything about the history of this EVIL country's foreign policy. It's unfortunate that more of our leaders in Wash.D.C. don't consult you first.

I know enough to form an opinion, backed by substantiated evidence, about the United States' relationship with the Middle East, yes.

I never said this country was evil - It's perfectly natural for a leader to want to control a region rich with scarce resources for the sake of his country's economy, but when the decision is based also on the financial benefit of himself and his wealthy friends and campaign contributors, a line needs to be drawn.

Of course, that line will never be drawn because, unfortunately, too few are aware.

The notion that this country spent tens of billions of dollars and sacrificed hundreds of American lives, as well as thousands of Iraqi lives, for the purpose of "freeing the Iraqi people" is hysterically absurd. What about the thousands of innocent people that die every day in Congo? MILLIONS have been killed so far, and we haven't so much as run a story on the 6:00 news.
