What? I don't understand what you're saying. It did shoot up... to about 7500ft, IIRC. It was originally tethered to the ground, but when it became untethered, it took off.

i'm not sure, technically, what they're charging him with...but it's something to do with a false report and i think they will try to get them to pay for any costs associated with the search and rescue.

CNN has an article about the family's lawyer basically saying that everyone is coming down hard on them and they don't deserve it. i hope the parents are thrown in jail for stupidity and they have to pay a large fine for wasting everyone's time.
