live concerts
first ever concert i went to was rolling stones steel wheels tour at shea stadium with my parents in 89. i was 13 and i thought it was the best concert i'll ever see because of the size. now that i'm 31 i enjoy the smaller venues more than the stadium or arena concerts where the audio systems are lot worse and the sound starts to fly away instead of being trapped in a small room.
best concert ever nirvana new music seminar roseland ballroom in 93 before in utero was released. i even managed to see their unplugged songs 3 months before mtv unplugged.

I used to go to a lot of shows when bands like Thursday, Thrice, TBS, BTBAM, and a bunch of others were really good. Then MTV got a hold of those bands and 14 year olds started showing up with bandannas on their faces and pants tighter than my socks, so I stopped. The music was great, the times were great, but I can't stand watching random girls my sisters' age "mosh" (and by mosh I mean bounce off each other) and then talk about how xhardxcorex and straightxxxedgexangelxxxabcxxx they are.

go see a Foo Fighters show. you'll lose your voice 5min in. Dave Grohl just makes it feel like hes playing the show in your living room.

^obviously not. this energy you speak of sounds a lot like mob/sheep mentality, making things great even when they are not. There is no such thing as a band or singer that has ALL great stuff. but maybe i just cant appreciate. peace out.
also, have u ever gone to see a techno concert? i can guarantee you ever single person is loving every minute.

pass on that one even if somone gave me backstage passes. i bought the first foo fighters album when it first came out but haven't liked any of his solo stuff. no wonder Kurt never allowed any of his songs on the record.

Foo Fighters has always been Dave Grohl. he played every instrument on the first album, and then found taylor hawkins and the rest of the band. hes never been "solo". youre telling me that you dont like:
Everlong
Hero
Learn to fly
Aurora
febuary stars
Best of you
DOA
Monkey wrench
times like these
in your honor
ect....

dyhppy, maybe you're just not really into the music as much as the other people at the show. The reason it may sound like the cheering gets louder when the radio hits get played is because all of the people like you who only go to see the "good stuff" only react when the "good stuff" begins.

It is the energy that is projected from a live show that gets you going.
I personally feel that the Mosh pit ruined concerts for me. It's energy gone wrong.
