Living and working in China - Who can give me pointers?
Many thanks Wantone and WhiteS2k!
I don't want to rush things; taking things easy. I'll see what happens and fill you in. I won't be able to round everything up before the autumn of this year anyway.
That ICERED website will come in very handy indeed!
The salary issue is not so easy as it looks. I travel a great deal and find that cost of living varies dramatically per location. Simply taking what is offered for granted can mean a step back, and obviously I don't want that. The little information I have indicates that a 'regular' US income, when located in China, should be enough. (FYI: European wages are about 30% less considering 1 US$ equals 1 Euro).
Of course provided housing, transportation etc. will have a big impact on final negotiations (if it comes that far).
I'm not afraid at all about the 'unknown' factor regarding general life and communicating (I face such challenges so often) I consider that the fun part anyway!!
But again many thanks and please let me know your thoughts, suggestions, or even questions regarding this matter.

PS: I took that S800 picture in July 2003!!
