I think there is a mixture of problems going on here. One the economy is such for designers that they need actual compensation for work. Everyone is hungry right now so work comes at a premium. that's the major issue.

The next is more a matter of preference. IMHO I cannot see the value in a graphic designer getting exposure on a racing car. Its true that any exposure is good exposure but anyone marketing themselves or their product has to see value in the placement or they wont pursue it.

If it was a graphics company that produced car wraps or printed the car graphics and they placed their logo on the car that said "graphics by:" you could see where that had some kind of logical value. But in this case, even if you placed the designers logo with a by-line that read "logo designed by:", the designer is not reaching very much logical market share in the venture.

Look at race cars and the products placed on the car's roll call or in the major sponsor graphics: you don't see too many design firms or stickers touting logo designs services.

You reached out with something different which is good and creative but sometimes you have to evaluate the intrinsic value of what you are offering. You would actually, in this case, get more response from offering an item like an iPad or a cash prize than the specific type of exposure you are offering.

I hope this helps
