yea... balut isn't cow brain. it's half-developed ducklings still in the egg. hahaha... my mom eats that too, i've never had the guts to try it. my uncles also used to butcher goats on my grandma's patio table. me and my cousins would be playing with the goat one minute and eating it the next.
what about bagoong? that's my favorite. bagoong and rice.

man... that mantis shrimp... how come it didnt turn orange when it got cooked? i'd be scared to eat that... but i like lobster tho... very good...

That is one of many species. I am glad you eat them. The more you can keep from finding thier way into my saltwater tank, the better.
Seriously, these little nightmares are the most destructive things ever to see the inside of a live rock tank. If you buy live rock and get one of these guys in there, kiss your fish stock goodbye. Almost impossible to catch and stealthy as hell.
Bon appetite!!! I hate those things

As a reef aquarium owner myself, i'm with this guy! These things are frightening! Never mind the other fish, once they get big enough, the "sword" ones will cut the hell out of you and the "hammer" ones will break your bones! The hammer ones can even break your tank if it's not super thick glass.
For those of you who like cock fights, try searching the web for some mantis shrimp videos - yikes!

hey nice Puffer, is that one kept in brackish water?
Puffers are a lot of fun to keep as they seem to have more friendly "personality" than a lot of other fish. When you walk up to the tank they'll swim right up to the glass and pay attention to you. Some, such as porcupine puffers, will even squirt water at you when they want food!
They're just sort of a pain to feed since most wont eat flake food and they need to gnaw on snails to keep their teeth nice and short.
