ya but real estate is still at a premium in the average family home....

when you can hang a 60" tv on the wall, it's pretty swish....

we have 4 of them (varying sizes - 37" to 60") throughout our house and they're out of sight, out of mind.

i will never get a table top set ever again....NEVER.

DLP with an extended warranty that covers the bulb is the way to go if you don't need to hang it. Low cost, bright sharp picture, good viewing angles, reflections and burn-in are non-issues. All "affordable" HDTV's are a compromise in one way or another, keep that in mind when shopping.

I got a smokin' deal on a Samsung online through a link on the manufacturer's site. No sales tax, free ground shipping (took 4 days), and a much lower price than all the local retailers. My Samsung 61" 1080p has a picture nearly as good as the Sony that costs 4x's as much.

IMO Samsung DLP is the best bang for the buck out there.

We just got a Bravia 32" and I love it, my only complaint is the dark colors, havent witnessed any ghosting yet...bright colors on this tv are amazing! (ie Ice age II or any other cartoons.)

Hanging is pretty nice and sweet, but there are so many negatives. 1) TV would remain permanent; can't move it around. 2) It would leave huge holes in the wall once it's taken off, thus depreciates the house value if you intend to sell the house. 3) Not all TVs fit onto the same rack, so if you intend to replace the current TV, you'd need to make sure it'll fit onto the same wall rack. And other negatives too.

I would love to hang mine because it's so nice and sweet, but the negatives are just too much, esp. the huge holes in wall.

ANYTHING can be repaired if you think about it. However, if you hire a professional, it costs. If you do it yourself, the result may suck. Like I said, personally, the negatives outweigh the positives for me to hang a TV, though it'd be beautiful, aesthetically.
