made in Japan vs. Made in U.S.
I gotta a question for ya'll:
Would you have bought (or would you still buy) the s2k if it was made in the U.S., as opposed to Japan (like the Accords and Civics)?

I remember reading a story about the opening of the Marysville Ohio assembly plant and how the quality of the locally sourced product was the equal of its Japanese counterpart. Honda, Toyota and Nissan continue to prove this here in the US today. The key ingredient is the absence of the UAW in the assembly process (IMHO).
Over the years I've owned a number of Hondas, from Japan as well as Marysville. I have seen no noticable difference; the quality of the stateside Honda is every bit the equal of the import, IMHO.

Having been a Honda dealer (motorcycles, ATVs, generators, outboard motors, and lawnmowers) for 25 years, my decision to buy the S2000 was sealed when I saw the VIN # began with a "J", Japan and not a "1",US. I have owned many US made Hondas/Acuras and have been very happy with them-but given a choice I would buy the Japanese built one every time.
