Default magazine subscription renewal offers suck!

I get a lot of magazines so I get these offers from this same place all the time.

Today I got an offer for Road and Track for $66.00 for 3 years! I can get it for $12 per year (or less) right from Road and Track.

I guess they are hoping to find suckers who think $22 per year is a good deal. What a bunch of shit.

They do this with just about every magazine I get and the pricing is always way worse than right from the magazine.

you will be receiving one of the lowest available rates we can offer for your regular subscription

Yeah, they crack me up. They actually called me once, pretending to be from a DIY magazine, and offered me a 'special' renewal rate of $20/year. I said, that's funny, I just renewed for two years for $20. They just hung up.

I stuff their papers in their postage paid envelope (sometimes with a note, and sometimes not) and mail it back to them, so it costs them more money. I esp. do it with the credit card offers. If everybody did the same, maybe this crap would slow down.

Oh man - thanks for the great idea! I feel stupid for not thinking of it myself.

These companies are so bad. Is anyone really stupid enough to renew their subscription
for 4x what they originally paid?

Awesome would be taping the envelope to a brick and putting it in a mailbox.
