When he cuts off the light and drops the shirt, the laser illuminates the wires that had been holding it up. If you pause it fast enough you can see it.

Still pretty original.

That was filmed at the Magic Castle in Hollywood, CA; unusual: the Castle doesn't generally allow filming of any kind. Owing to the quality of the film I'd guess that someone got it without permission.

Jason Latimer is one of my wife's and my favorite magicians. If you ever get a chance to see his cups and balls routine - using clear, glass cups - you'll be even more amazed. Jason, by the way, is a graduate student in mathematics at UC Santa Barbara.

Unfortunately, the clip didn't show much of the MC: Rich Bloch. He, too, is one of my favorite magicians; he's extremely funny.

Here it is. He's performing at FISM, an international magic competition held every three years. He won the Grand Prix: only the third American magician - along with Lance Burton and Johnny Ace Palmer - ever to do so.
