Default Magnificent 19

This makes me sick to my stomach:

I saw on the news today that there are actually groups of people are viewing the 19 hijackers on Sept 11th as heros. Some of these people are here in this country holding rallies screaming how they support Bid Laden!!!!!!!

What the heck is this world coming to????

I know this sounds harsh, but I still think the American government planned that attack so we could go attack Iraq. I'm not anti government, I feel for the people who were lost, but it seems to me that it was all planned...

Holy crap, let me guess. You are also the person that believes:
1. the Kennedy Assassination was done by the CIA
2. we never landed on the moon
3. MLK was killed by the FBI
4. the gov't hid all the facts about Roswell, alien abduction, and extra terrestial beings
5. there are subliminal messages in everything

Man, some people are just cynical. Losing the Trade Center was such a tremendous economical loss, there is no way on this earth that the US government would have planned this attack. You aren't being harsh, you are being naive.

And you have the right to say what you want, but it is a disservice to the people that lost loved ones in that attack to even think that way. The unfortunate thing is that I know you are not alone in that belief. This just amazes me.

Too many people in the Pentagon and CIA would need to be involved, and even if they were paid off tremendously, these are people that spent their entire lives protecting this country. Now I think it would be a bit naive to say that the government planned this attack, but it's somewhat possible that they knew the attack was coming (not knowing the exact time, place or magnitude), did very little about it, and just played incompetence when people started asking questions. I don't think we'll ever really know for sure. These conspiranoia websites claim that there's no question there was a massive cover-up, but you need to view both sides of the argument to see if there's a definite answer.

It's an interesting read, but not something to take at face value.

This proves to be an interesting, yet short lived, thread. My question would be why on earth would the US government wish to plunge the domestic economy to the verge of ruin only to go in and prosecute a war that they were ill-prepared to take on, fail to find WMD or capture or confirm to have killed the leader of the country that we were supposedly after?

On second thought, it all seems to have gone so poorly that maybe it DID take a bureucratic government to plan it...
