i think we should round up all the homeless people and use them for scientific and medical experiments. we'll give them a cage to live and and food to eat. this way it's a win win situation...

You do realize that the majority of those folks begging at the intersection are not homeless and many of them make hundres of dollars a day tax free....
Does it sound like I realize this, having read what I posted??

I've never heard that many of them actually have money, hence my post.

I used to give spare change all the time but ever since this happened to me, I would never again.

I saw this lady get out of her fairly new Toyota Corolla, starts to walk around the parking lot and asks people for change. She then comes up to me and asks me if I had any change because "she's trying to catch the bus." That is just some whack shit! When I asked her why she was gonna take the bus if she just got ot of her car, she couldn't say anything.

I used to be nice but when bums got pissed at me for giving them only "50" cents I said you and get a job. Now I just ignore them. They get paid for doing nothing. They need to be taught a lesson and its people who keep giving them money who are not helping. Sure there are special cases but in most its because the bums are lazy.

I was at a stoplight today and there was a homeless (i assume) guy with a sign (need work or food or money I'm sure- I couldn't read it) off the side of the road. A guy who turned in front of me, coming from the road where the guy was standing opened his window and yelled "Get a f*cking job." It just bugged the shit out of me. I was wishing there was a way I could have words with the guy, but I he was going the other way and I was stuck at the light.

Sure you could say the guy should be trying to work somehow, but the way I look at it, I don't know what caused the guy to be where he is today. Perhaps he has been/is still looking. And anyway, I don't think it's possible to have a zero percent unemployment rate. There will always be some people who cannot find work. Perhaps I'm just a bit of a sucker, but I still feel bad when I see someone in that position. And I realize some of them may be lazy crack-heads and just don't want to work, I'm sure some have tried to better themselves with no luck.

Anyway, that just pissed me off.

Oh, but a little bit later, I saw a hot lady outside a building in Bloomington, Indiana, standing with a short greasy looking guy. As we got closer I realized why- It was John Mellencamp. But apparently he's a real prick, so I refused to be star-struck, like my fiance was.
I'm assuming you're referring to the people at I-70 and US 41?

The local TV station WTWO had a hidden camera at that location and they said they made about $200 in a day.

I wouldn't yell at those guys, but everytime I head down that way, there's always someone there.

I was bored one day and actually gave a guy a sack of McDonald's food and he cussed me out.

I'm always interested to know why so many people seem to "know" that apparently the vast majority of people who panhandle are fakers. I mean really - has there been any reputable study done in any major city about the numbers of genuine people in need? I've seen panhandlers been ignored, verbally abused - has anyone who's been approached by a panhandler stopped and asked them their name? Asked them their story? Generally people don't.
I just think that before people form a strong opinion about an issue they could maybe explore it a little deeper.
