Mayweather offered Manny $40M for a fight, Manny wants 50/50, which is not unreasonable. To a layman, $40M for a few-minute (although variable) fight is out-of-this-world, but in Manny's POV, it's not fair to him to get $40M while his equally-matched opponent would get 3-4 times that much. Hell, I'd get in a ring with any of them for "just" $10M; even if I get knocked out, it'd be worth it.

I'd say 50/50 is a fair deal and get a fight on. It's about time.

Yes, I would. I'd get into a ring with you or Mayweather for 1/4 of that money. Then again, I'm not in a position for negotiation.

 

although i think mayweather is a little bitc* (especially with most of his comments), most people would probably agree that mayweather would win between the two.

 

That's a pure assumption. That is why if this fight would happen, it would set all sorts of monetary records. By most people, you're referring to most Americans, because most Filipinos believe Manny would win. We'd only know when the fight actually happens.

But man, they each would get AT LEAST $70M if they'd split 50/50. That's insane for a few minutes of work (by "a few minutes", I mean tens of minutes). They'd get more money in one quick fight than an average person on an average salary makes in 30 generations. Crazy!

 

Also, I think Manny's being a little ridiculous about the money. Fact of the matter is, Floyd always has pulled more viewers than Pac could dream of. Granted, most people buy his ticket because they want to see him finally lose. I mean for god sakes, he's only making ~$22 Million vs Marquez. He's REALLY bitching about a $18 million increase?

It really depends how smart Pacquiao fights. A battle vs some of the greatest offense in boxing right now vs the best defense hands down. Definitely a helluva matchup. Pacquaio has really just gotta nail his body so he can't do his lean/straights as easily.

 

And how much did Marquez make in the same fights? Probably nearly the same monies. It's not fair if your opponent makes 3-4 times your money, unless you're the severe underdog. That's like saying you're only worth about 20-25% of your opponent.

Edit: never mind. I just did a search and found out Marquez only earned $5M. Damn, that's kinda unfair too. Then again, Marquez wasn't as nearly in high demand as Manny in a fight with Floyd. Regardless of what purse they'd get, I don't feel sorry for any of them because it's more money than most people dream of.

 

Along with the money, Im sure Manny is dreading playing chase the whole fight while Mayweathers only fight is counter punching.
