I think you guys need to read up on what a pre-nup actually is. It is a PRE nuptual agreement. It ONLY protects assets one has BEFORE marriage. ALL assets obtained during marriage (Ferrari, house, dollars) are equally owned by both. So again, unless he owned the house before he got married (owned it alone) or has a million dollars in the bank, a prenup is as good as toilet paper.
Not true. It's an agreement that is signed before nuptials that otherwise supercede's the laws that govern divorce after nuptiuals.

That is correct. However, if you have no assets or are part of an existing asset (ie partner in a business) you have absolutely no reason for a prenup.

I see absolutely no benefits to this. If you and your wife argue over money, the fact that one earns more than the other, or that you spent $200 more this month than the other did, you made a mistake.
Separate accounts helps cover up that mistake. Thats the benefit -- not ruining your marriage over something that could be fixed.

I personally believe in having joint accounts but then again it comes down to the individual couple. From attempting to read all these posts, it is clear that people can make both situations work. So sit and talk with your girl. Get to know how she approaches money. Does she have to have new clothes every week or is she still happily driving her 10 year old beater?

My wife stays at home to keep the house and our dogs in order and I work. We obviously have one account that everything is paid from and she charges most everything on the credit card. I also have cash at home when she needs it. I pay the CC off every month and she never goes overboard with her purchases. It works for us.
