I got a 57 in college algebra back in 2000. Luckily, my teacher gave me a D so I wouldn't have to take it again.

 

3a. 9C6 X 7 + 9C7 = 708
Case 1. 6 women on committee
9 women choose 6 multiply with any men.
Case 2 All women on committee
9 female choose 7
Add case 1 and case 2 to obtain total

3b. 15C6 X 2 = 10010
15 choose 6 multiply by 2 since it has to be bob or alice. Or 15C6 with alice plus 15 choose 6 with bob.

I hope i got that right.
