Saw him for the first time last night on Larry King. Seemed like a great kid with a great, altruistic attitude.

Very sad to watch the machine breath for him throughout the interview.

Rest in Peace

He did more in his 14 years of life than I've done in my 30.
Makes me realize that life is too precious to waste away without making an impact in people's lives.

Lord, accept Mattie in your kingdom and may the life he lived for you be an example on how to live ours.

What really floored me was watching him doing Martial arts flips while still attached to his oxygen tube - Reminded me of Yoda in attack of the clones
If you guys haven't seen that clip I would try and find it.

Kumar, I understand what you mean but your delivery is offensive on a thread that is celebrating the life of a truly great soul in Mattie. Try and be a little more compasionate!
I agree that his mother should not have any more children as she has passed this awful disease to all of her children and now she is alone, She has to live with this and had she not we would have not meet Mattie. A double edged sword in this case! I personally have a heart disease that I would pass to a child which is why I have chosen not to be a father - it is a personal choice.
