...and not because they care about how FAT people are getting...b/c they could care less...

...its being phased out because they think they need a reduction in the number of items that are available on their menu! Thanks for caring!!!! F U McD's!!!! money grubbing fools!

fat unhealthy people (no offense) really is a pretty big drain on health insurance and whatnot also. I think ALL resteraunts should back down on portion sizes. USA has always been about bigger is better though.....especially with food.

It's funny how people wanted more food so they got that option.

Now that they're getting fat, they blame corporations for serving them what they ordered.

I guess you can "Have it Your Way" as long as we don't get sued for it.

Be responsible for what you eat, like you don't know fast food ain't gonna make you fat.

USA has always been about bigger is better though.....especially with food.
I always hear this... but in practice, it's a bunch of BS. I've done my share of travelling to other countries (European ones anyway), and there's no doubt in my mind that other affluent countries eat just as much as we do.

England, Ireland, Italy... just to name a few. Portions are certainly NOT any smaller than what you typically find in the US.
The difference is the CONTENT! (at least in Ireland and Italy... England is much more USA-like). Less crap fast food, more REAL food.

When are people going to realize that WHAT they eat is just as important as HOW MUCH OF IT they eat.

Rather than get off their fat asses and realize they're the problem, they sue McD's. What a bunch of BS. Nobody wants to take responsibility for themselves anymore in this country, and it makes me ashamed to live here.

did you guys ever have megasize in your area? when i was in highschool the local McDonalds had a megasize option in which they put the french fries in a large drink cup and the soda they gave you was double that of the supersize portion. all for like a dollar more or something.

Taking it off the menu isn't gonna keep people from ordering double of a smaller portion.. sheesh

I usually get a smaller sized drink anyway if I eat in... free refills!!

But I thought I read before that they did a study comparing the US to France, and they found that their portions were smaller (not that one study means it's fact, but it was still rather interesting)...

I think it was this one:

Either way, I'm going to miss my Supersized fries. I can never get enough of McDonalds' fries...
