Any of you guys read the book 'Fast Food Nation.'

I haven't eaten McD's for about 3 years now.

I gained quite a bit of weight during college days, but it definitely wasn't due to fast food as I had no car and was just eating on campus outlets using our mandatory meal plan.

Now that I moved to Germany, I'm missing those free refills on sodas, only one single KFC outlet provides such service here!

Not that it matters much, but I remember by first trip to the US, we went to florida when I was a little kid. We went to Mcdonalds and I ordered a large pop, figuring it would be the same size as back home.

When they served my drink it was a BUCKET!! it literally was enough to quench the thirst of my whole family.

As the years went by, Canada caught up to the US, and I think the portions are the same.

Back then though, our pop cans were 300 ML when the US was pushing 355 ML. ( imagine the small circumferance of the can going straight down, instead of flaring out like it does )

Anyways My point is, when I got a can of coke, I remember thinking this way to much pop, and the 2 weeks I was there, I didn't finish one full can of coke.

Perhaps with out concious thought, we are conditioned to eat and drink more and more..I can pound a 355 ml can of pop like its water..

Yea, eating habits in other contries are different too. I think in France, a larger lunch and a smaller dinner is what they do, that way you have all those calories when you need them during the day, and not shortly before you go to bed.

But I agree with eveyone else...damn I wish I could blame my own actions on others. Tuners will be next, sueing AEM because the intake made them get speeding tickets.

I hope we don't have to start signing contracts upon entering fast food places stating that we are there upon our own free will and eat at our own risk.
