Lol my brothers g/f is a hardcore vegan (if shes around she doesnt even let HIM eat meat ) but this one time she came over my moms house for dinner, and we had kibbe (basically ground beef + wheat germ) and we didnt tell her there was meat in it

Victory.
Good for you.

I'm a vegetarian and I have no problem with other people eating meat, yet in my experience it's everyone who eats meat that tries to get me to do the same. It works both ways.

Anyway, I won't go as extreme as a vegan diet, but you can do it as long as you are getting proper amouont of proteins in some way. I would take supplements or eat a lot of soy though.

I would back off the soy. There's a LOT of estrogen in soy. Not exactly a good thing for either men OR women to be eating a lot of it. You're better off with other legume's.

Exactly. IF you look at the cost for a full meal at McD's, there are SOOOOO many better places to eat (mostly mom/pop owned). Try a decent deli, pizzeria, or ethnic food places. MUCH healthier, more filling, and best of all CHEAPER.

You are so right! I can get a decent meal for the same or less than a meal at McDs at quite a few resturants around here - especially if I go for the lunch specials.

So Im a huge fan of McDonalds, in the past five years they have done wonders to the fast food industry. almost every restaurant takes credit card, has similar tasting food, has better tasting patties, has a very fast drive through (sans the soccer mom that cant decide what she wants then changes it at the counter) and almost never makes a mistake. But my wife hates it. Poor Me.

Well lately they are getting healthier with salads and fruit. But their most recent addition, the Snack Wrap, is excellent. only $1.29, lots of flavor, and relatively good for you. You need to do yourself a favor and try it.

Thank you Ray Kroc.

Dave
go to kfc once in a while dude, they have had that product out for a long ass time. and if you want healthy try the grilled one w/ no dressing

I'm surprised at all the talk about meat and McDonalds in the same sentence. Aren't their patties just ground up cardboard dipped in grease?

Beyond the fact of the calories and the surprise meats they all use, I find I can eat at chicken restaurants (chicken tenderloins), pizza restaurants (fatty if the pizza is good and has lots of cheese), chinese restaurants, a few italian restaurants, etc. etc. for the same or less $$$.

I get more food so I am fuller, it usually digests better so I don't have this huge lump of an undigested burger sitting there all afternoon, I get my food just as quickly, it tastes better plus I get variety.

The sodium levels are so high at Arbys that I am drinking drinks all afternoon which doesn't help the caloric intake.

That's why I don't do McDougals or the other fast food places.

What really bugs me is the fact that no matter where you go, unless you drink water, you can't get away from the caffeine. You can do diet drinks to lop off 500-1000 calories (nobody ever figures out how many calories those drinks are that you are refilling 3-4 times).

But if you want caffeine free you have to do Sprite or one of the clones. They are just real sweet water with nary a hint of Lemon or Lime. BTW Coke puts caffeine in basically all their line because it's addictive. Even in their Fanta line of fruit flavored drinks that everyone else does caffeine free.
