Mel Gibson...
Why! Why are rich successful men suddenly going out and trying to have sex with lots of women? Tiger woods was only the most prevalent, but our data shows that the numbers are growing. David letterman, and before that Bill Clinton. There is a pattern here, people. Why would a man who's famous and makes tons of money use that to try and have sex with lots of different women? It defies logic.
.... oh noes.. he says racist and misogynistic things. sounds the ****** alarms.

Well, you might be racist yourself too. Famous people shouldn't say "a pack of Ni$#ers".

Nobody should!
And of course those words have been in all of our heads at some point, as have the thoughts of murder, suicide, drug use, blah blah blah, etc etc - but they mostly only exist in the thought process. When your thought process takes you to the point of verbalizing or acting out these thoughts when you're put into a reactive mode, it's often a demonstration that you've deemed those thoughts acceptable or appropriate to come out.
"Private" conversation or not, there's no excuse for the racial and derrogatory slurs. If Gibson had just gone nuts and screamed the other profanity and insulting things, some would've just called him an a-hole or thought he wasn't handling things as well as possible.

"There was a pack of n*****s at the mall today." Wrong.
"A pack of n*****s attacked my wife at the mall today and stole her purse." Ehhh...yeah, I'll let that one slide.
