Default Microsoft Office: word

I was typing up my paper using Microsoft Office Word for 2007 and saved it on my flash drive. Then I opened it up with Microsoft Word but it is 2003 and now I can not read the information. It tells me I need to convert the language but there isnt any options for ENGLISH? Help me out. Thanks in advance.

The 2007 document is probably .docx extension and the 2003 is .doc. Here is the compatibility pack for you to open the 2007 document in 2003.

Either do that or open it up on the original computer and when you go to save it, click "save as" and save it under the 03 format (.doc)

Wow, I can't believe the IT people would set .docx as the default in a lab - I bet a lot of people are going to be freaking out when they can't open their docs on older versions of Office!

If you go back to your file, you can simply "Save as" and then under File Type make sure you choose Word 97-03.

Microsoft didn't exactly make the compat. pack widely known. I just found out about it last week after I got tired of not being able to open the resumes of people being sent to me in docx format.
