Hey guys and gals,

Many of my close friends got the call last night/this morning and they are being shipped out to mideast for average of 6 months plus.

I know there are many military folks here so, if you get the call BE CAREFUL and GOOD LUCK. I'm stuck here in the Pentagon but my wishes are w/ you.

Many enlisted, officers, and some reserves that I know of from personal contacts.

My close friend's girlfriend is gone for at least 6 months, she's a pharmacist (they just got engaged recently, that's gotta really suck). Another sucky situation was one of my friends was visiting her family for the holidays and she got the call early in the morning. She told me she was pretty much ordered to get back to her duty station (had to make her trip short and be back) and was shipped out all w/in 2 days (one day to fly back home and the next day she was shipped out).

To keep the info safe, yes many people are getting "the call", and your unit commander (if you are concerned) are suppose to give out early notice, although that could be just a 1-day advance notice.

Just be careful!

I'm in the Marine Corps Reserve in Charlotte NC and our commanding officer sent out a notice that pretty much said our time was coming. Who knows when that will be though. As of 11:54 AM, it hasn't happened yet.
