Just went down and checked out a Mini Cooper. They tape Live With Regis and Kelly in my building and they had cars from the New York Auto Show on so I went down and checked them out. I really like the Mini Cooper. Nice package definitely have to consider one as a fun little city car. They also had the new Z car. Kind of funky looking with a space age interior. There was some Jeep concept that looked like a lego car that was getting alot of unecessary attention. I did't really bother to check that or the new Thunderbird (too big). Also on hand the GMC Envoy and some type of pickup (still in the trailer) from Nissan. I wish that I had my camera at work.

Can't wait until the car show!

Could someone post pictures of the mini. I didn't see one at the Chicago auto show. At 18k I think it would make a nice daily driver.

Wait for the Cooper S version! Supercharged to 160hp.

Rumors abound of a high power Alpina version as well as a 4wd Rally version to compete in the world rally scene.

The one I saw to day was just a Cooper but it had the paint job reminiscent of the Cooper S. Red with white top and white side mirrors.

Thanks for the pic. When are these supposed to hit the US market. I know they're only being sold at select bmw dealers. If they're being released as an '02 model, I think they'll start showing up at the end of this year?? Does anyone have any info?

I remember hearing March '02 but I don't know where I heard it or how reliable of a source it came from.

I too heard it will be released in the spring of '02, not the fall of '01, which is the current slated date for the European release.

I miss my old Cooper S!
