Default minor accident last night...

So I backed up into an integra last night, looked in my left mirror and didn't see it -_-. realized i should've looked at my rearview mirror instead. damn s2k blindspots! so anyways, my rear bumper tow hook cover hit his license plate insert (the part where it goes inward where the plate is mounted), and his paint chipped. barely any, and its pretty low so it's not that noticeable. i offered to pay in cash but he said he wanted to get an estimate first but this morning my insurance agent calls me about the accident. so obviously, he called his agent about it. so my question is this, can i still resolve this between ourselves (I.E. paying him in cash) without getting our insurance companies involved even though they know about it?

At this point you are better off letting your insurance handle it. Since they already have a claim filed against you it will still be there regardless if you pay it out of pocket or not.

I hope you took pictures. It seems as the person is trying to get a whole new bumper. If it is as minor as you say it is, I'm suprised he just didn't take cash instead of reporting it. I know because I regretably did this before.

Find out where he lives and get some touch up paint and do it in the middle of the night while he's sleeping. How is he going to have a claim if there's no damage... AM I RIGHT OR AM I RIGHT!?!??!

You can still settle it between the two of you as long as he just talked to his insurance company about it. If a claim has been made, then there's no point.

if you're complaining about blind spots in the s2k, sounds like you need to learn how to properly aim your mirrors.

. I rarely drive at night with my top up. It's too nice out to.
