The most offensive misspelled word I see here is "S2000"; it clearly is not spelt "stook"!

Hi Sondra:

Improper punctuation. Had a secretary miss a period once and it scared the hell out of the whole office.

Good thread, Sondra. You nailed all of the most annoying examples, but here are a few more:

Its/It's

Dam/Damn/Damb (Sorry Pinky... )

The word that I most hate is, "congradulations". Damnit around Graduation time you see it plastered everywhere..."congradulations class of 2000".

ahhh...hate hate hate hate that word when it's mispelt

....drives me f&%$ing crazy ---- alot. ITS TWO WORDS PEOPLE! A lot...

And I don't have a problem with this thread - I find it appalling how people bastardize the english language. Sure, we are all typing as fast as our fingers can move (ok with me TWO fingers), but come on people, its obvious when a word is continually misspelled, the poster does not not how to do so correctly. We all make mistakes, and we all do not know how to spell everything (except my wife - the editor!), but make an effort! I think it is even more dismal in the real world : Break Service ("Yeah, do you work on s2ooo's?).

This is a great country, made up of all sorts of interesting parts. There are times when I wish we all looked smarter (and boy o' boy, does this go sooooo much deeper than spelling...)!

And to those who "struggle to post" - power to you. Keep trying, and keep getting better!

One more thing - "OMG" - thought the valley-girl thing went out the window long ago...

Tonky has a very good point. There are many here who are not well versed in the english language, those whose mother tongue is not english. I simply view those posts and smile and automatically interpret in my own mind what it is that they are trying to say and don't get too worked up about it. Sometimes, it's just entertaining how folks from different backgrounds try to express themselves. The spoken english language for some is a very peculiar thing. The written form can be just as formidable. People having to deal with weird spelling, syntax, context, tense, use of verbs, singular & plural, gender, etc. I wouldn't like to discourage these people from posting because of some "perceived" ridiculing.
But pet peeves are OK, too.

I don't know why people have to analyze every thread to death, but please, for the love of God, stop!
This is meant to be a funny thread about mispelled words, nothing else

That being said, I also have no idea why some people intentionally write s200 instead of S2000

It's also amusing to look at the different meanings of words in different countries. For example, the word "fanny". In Australia (where I grew up), it was (is?) considered to be a foul word that means a part of a woman's anatomy. You can understand how shocked my brother were when we heard our step-mother tell her sons that if they didn't behave she was gonna spank their fanny
