Default MMA's future

Seems that MMA has become main stream and taken a differnt course IMO. I used to be in it and it used to be like a fraternity and sportsmanship was the primary focus. Now it seems to be all dudes who assume they are bad asses and are just totally giving the sport the white trash image.

MMA and Tapout is the new Nascar.

Just my view, please comment and share ^^.

Yeah, the sport has gone very mainstream in the past couple years. I'll watch some UFC from time to time but thats about it.

Every pimple faced kid with a mom is doing it now, yes, even the fat kid that no one talks to on the lunch table...thanks to Spike TV...it's basically american idol with contact sports...except it's even worse.

Tapout= Gay. But I cant hate on them too much because they were one of the first fightwear companies, before MMA and UFC got real popular. They just let the fame get to their head.

I agree 100% with the fanbase of MMA, Im a BJJ student myself but I barley watch MMA anymore just because of that main reason. Competitive judo/JJ is just as exciting to watch/practice with way less douchebags!

Ecactly! Im also into BJJ and theres really one school ill practice at in sandiego and thats Paulo Fernandos school. Everyone there I have come across are very good, very sportsman like and all around great guys, I have learned alot from that school and never once have I seen a bad attitude. Everyone there helps everyone else learn and get better and thats what we do.

I only wish mainstream MMA could say the same...

My school is the same way! Tons of super friendly people. Do you train regularly?

I used to until I left sandiego, but i havnt been able to find a good gym now to train in. All i see around here are rednecks in tapout shirts bragging about their 5000-0-0 perfect record and how they killed god etc... seems to shady. Ill wait till i get back to san diego and start at paulos place again

I like the sport. However, I saw a fight where a guy was cut really badly. It was the worst cut in a fight that I have ever seen. It could have been a career ending cut. It was that bad. I have never seen blood in fight like that.

They didn't stop the fight and the guy took more of a beating than he should have. At that point I decided I was done with it. That's not sports. That's savagery.
