I recived a money order thats u.s. dollar draft with a us routing number but my bank said they would have to put a 14 to 30 day hold on it does anyone know of a way around this?

 

Of course they do. It's a check drawn on a foreign bank.

 

I bet your selling a car to someone from Canada.

Tell the guy to bring CASH.

Your bank systems dont trust our bank system in the least bit.

Another option is for the guy to open up a USA bank account.

 

There's no way around it. Even if it were a us mo. There has been a lot of fraud. See if he can give you cash or etf.

 

Have him/her pay for it in BC Bud.

Hey I was the one who sent the draft. A draft is as good as cash. The funds have already left my bank acct. I bought my s2k (22.5k) and re30's (2k) with the same process.

I would have sent a wire, but those can take up to a month as well and have heard horror stories of them getting lost in transit (not sure how this is possible, but I work at a bank and hear about it a lot). I would have sent western union but it was going to cost $70 (more than paypal).

Aaron, have your bank call my bank (place of employment) at 519 837 3443 to verify the authenticity of the draft and get the go ahead
