more political/economic OT
listened to a Harvard ps/econ professor give a talk regarding the sickness of our society, government, economy, etc. she brought up the idea that the root of many problems is the greed of people in power. since people are free to accumulate unlimited wealth, people in power (like good old Bush) are financed by MBNA (his primary campaign contributor) to pass legislation that would help them all make even more money at the expense of the american middle and lower classes (bankrupcy filing limits). she described america as a poker game where there are only a few rich players left and everyone else is just borrowing to stay in the game.
one "crazy" suggestion was to not allow rich/upper class people to hold public office. since they are supposed to be representing real people, etc.
do you have any ideas on how to fix this?
ckit, you'll have to attack the harvard prof this time. im just the messenger.
