With the RNC moving up to NYC this week, I keep seeing a lot of news about how many protesters are going to be present. The same thing happens whenever the WTO meets or any other "controversial" event takes place. This holds true to all political parties, so I'm not pointing fingers at any particular party or cause. . .

Anyway, I see people protesting on TV and wonder what the hell they can possibly do for a living. Who has the time to spend days traveling around the country yelling about something? Don't they realize that most rational people couldn't care less what these people are yelling about? I mean, if they really wanted to effect change, shouldn't they be working, making money to buy stuff, stimulating the economy, and voting in relevant elections?

Maybe it's just me, but I have a serious problem with people wasting my time while trying to force their rhetoric down my throat. Seriously, why aren't these people at work???

 

I often wonder what they do too. I think some protestors are one timers... like the lady who's son was killed in Iraq. She probably came out yesterday and she'll be back to her normal life (without her son) at home today.

Then I would be there are some jerks (men and women) who basically work as little as possible to travel around and create havoc at any public meeting.

It would take a lot for me to protest something. I just don't think me holding a sign is going to change the world....

It is both democrats/ republicans / pro life / pro choice / etc......

 

Many of them are at their jobs. Organizations hire protestors. I know sierra club does. We had a big highway project being built out here and there were a bunch of people chaining themselves to trees. Many of the protestors were just drunks and druggies that get paid a few bucks an hour to protest. They get paid some cash and buy booze. This particular group of protestors hired by Sierra Club, was at the construction site for weeks and when our local paper went to interview some of them, honest to god, they were not even sure what state they were in because the were bussed to whereever Sierra wanted them to protest.

Many times you might see job ads in your paper that say "Political Activism", many of these are paid protestor positions. Around here it pays about $7 an hour. I am all for conservation and sensible environmentalism, but I won't give a dollar to any of these groups because I don't feel the money should go to pay a bunch of smelly hippies to protest and get drunk.

People in this country always have a problem, but never have their own solution, all they can do it bitch.

I remember a while ago in NY, they had a rally against gas guzzling cars in SoHo.

I was driving my POS 1984 Olds Delta88 (pimpness ). I didnt have a lot of money at the time, and it was all I could afford. It had a leaky headgasket, so oil was constantly burning, creating massive smoke. Anyway, I was driving to work, and these rectal warts decide to line up in front of my car and not let me pass, because my car was part of the problem. Anyway, cops asked them to move, they didnt. I asked the cops to pull them off the road, they said they cant. So I just ran my car straight through them, like bowling ball and pins, rolling one of the protesters over my car. The cops just stood there laughing. I hope all protesters die. They dont do anything in regards to their cause, and just cause more problems.

 

That is my one biggest problem with these people. I swear, it seems like these people are professional whiners. Instead of just getting along with their own lives, they'd rather get in my face and bother me while I'm being a productive member of society.

You know, if these people just got jobs like the rest of us, they'd me much less inclined to bitch and moan all day, because they'd be too busy worrying about their own business, instead of everyone else's.

 

I HATE PROTESTERS!!!! i used to respect their opnions, but now I just they their stupid and need to get a life.

What happened? I remeber, when we first went to war with Iraq about 2 years back... people were protesting infront of the federal building on wilshire near sepulveda. rush hour traffic. i was driving by, trying to get on the 405. 'cool' i said to my self... 'war is not the answer.'

Then 2 or 3 stupid ass bitches run out on the street and lie down in the 2 right lanes of WILSHIRE BLVD! IN RUSH HOUR! almost causing an accident, a few other protesters grabbed them and pulled them back onto the sidewalk. STOOOOOOOOPID!!!! I mean, WTF does stopping traffic for us NORMAL people have to do with the war in Iraq?!?!?! Fcuking idiots!!!!

 

Laying down in the street is just ridiculous. Reminds me of the teenagers that thought it would be cool to copy Varsity Blues (is that the right movie?) - they were all killed.

It almost makes me want to run them over, but I just had the car detailed.
