Most addictive games
Counter Strike is the king of addiction of the modern games. D2, Civ/Civ2, and some of the others have a much longer span of time to play, and every game is at least somewhat unique. In CS, you play the same maps over and over, killing the same people over and over, with the same guns and the same essential tactics (bum-rushing, camping, sniping, etc) each time, but you keep coming back for more! That's addiction.
Dr Mario, Tetris, and some other similar games are equally evil. I went through 3 sets of batteries in 1 semester playing tetris on my TI-85.

Diablo, Diablo 2, Quake, Halflife and Civilation. On the weekends, Empire Deluxe over a modem (great war game with 3 ppl). For the Commodore 64, that would have to be Sword of Fargoul and Rally Speedway. Man.. I need to go to rehab.

Dungeons & Dragons anyone? That was my addiction. Back in the pencil & 20-sided dice day. Now it's Girls & Golf. I guess, though, comparing the old D&D (late '70s) to the PC games you have today is like comparing an MG-TD to an S2000...I'd probably get hooked on a stook, but I will always treasure my MG days!

After playing on-line games for a few years now, the thought of playing against the computer is boring.
The challenge of beating real people is the ultimate.
