most people (including me) are always in a hurry?
Only in a hurry when I'm behind the wheel, even when I'm early or running on time, I'd still be in a hurry behind the wheel. Must be a perception with a fast car. Must drive fast ... Then again, I'm mostly running late because I tend to believe I can make up the time driving faster.
Alot of people in life spend a good whole part of their life waiting. So to me, waiting is a bigger problem than being in a hurry. Hence the hurry is a chain reaction of not wanting to wait. Considering waiting is almost identical to wasting your life away doing something more meaningful elsewhere.

^^being late because you believe you can make up time by driving faster is a bad habit. not anything against you, but i hate people who are like that, even though i am like that too sometimes. they tuck in and out of traffic nearly hitting you just because they want to beat you to the stop light by 2 cars.

People tend to hurry themselves to enhance their personal perception of productivity. If you slow down and pace your day you can very easily slow things down.
what are you talking about?
10 years ago, i had 10 things to do throughout the day....now i got 20.
last i checked, the day hasn't gotten any longer.
it's a fact of life. families grow, social circles grow, work grows....there's just much more to get done.
oh, not to mention social behaviour and tradition shifts.
as women look for equality with men, it puts more pressure on men's time.
50 years ago, guys went to work, hit the bar and came home. dinner was on the table, house was clean, laundry was done, groceries were bought, kids were fed, homework was done....
50 years ago, i would've only had 2 things to do throughout the day.....

Nimesh, you're such a man of humanity.. can't say you're wrong.. but still man..
look at my life now.
am i lying?
My life is pretty slow. I was way more busy in college and even then I wasn't that busy.
The more time I have to think and to write, the better. My work stays at work, I don't have a "social circle" and I only keep a cell phone in my car for emergencies.
I have had days of total "productivity" that go by so fast. Sure I use skills and knowledge and I am active, but I feel like a robot. No critical thinking happens on those days and I can feel that I am slowly turning into that robot, now that I have more and more responsibilities.
This really isn't a bad thing. I always thought it was, but now I realize there are lots of things we *have* to do, but I think the key is finding a middle ground between silence and the rat race.
