The majority of people in ricers are 16-17 yr. olds that try to act like they are hot stuff.
Same age, same behavior.
I would like to see the statistics on stuff like this.
I'm not defending ricers in any way.

As far as bikes go, I've never seen one pulled over, that's because I don't see very many bikes. But I do see more "extreme dangerous manuvers" with guys on bikes than I do with cars. On the freeway going 130+ all the while doing wheelies.

The majority of my friends had domestics that were actually faster and less safe.

Not that old, 24.
My friends (in High School) were one of the many reasons why I'm in to Hondas now. I reacted to how they would always say that Japanese cars sucked and I just didn't fit in to their lifestyle.
My 2 close friends had 66 Mustangs that were really nice. One was red with a black vinyl top and one was blue with white racing stripes, both were rebuilt and in excelent condition. Their friends and other guys I'd hang around with had the really fast cars. Almost all of them were primer gray with big engines that you could hear idling while in class with big tires in the back doing burn-outs in the school parking lot.
At this time the ricers did appear, and I think that almost any car can be a ricer: put an exhaust and cut the springs on an Altima and add the phrase "teens will be teens" and your all set. But put a teen behind a 400hp+ hunk of metal with a lap belt and that's a hell of a lot more dangerous IMO.
