I would maybe consider renting a flat bed and doing it yourself. Idon't know your circumstances but I know I would trust myself more then a mover.

I personally don't.... but I just moved my younger sister (in Sept.) from Boston, MA out to LA... and had and still having a very bad experience with having a moving company bring her car out to the west coast. $900 orginal agreed price to transport her little Mitsu Eclipse in a week... turned into a $1500+ hell price and over a month to get her car!!!! And when she did get her car... there were minor scatches on it and... get this one... when she turned on the A/C (due to the 90 degree weather they had during that time) She heard a strange sound with her fan... so she takes it to a dealer to find out what is going on... and the mechanic comes out with a little bag, and what looks to be a teddy bear... well... it was not a teddy bear... it was a full grown RAT!!!!

The company refused to reinburse me for the car rental, and the RAT, and denies all paint damage to the car.

I can't take them to court, because of tricky wording in the contract... it said something like it may be there in a week. (I will get a copy of it to make sure, it has been a little while, and I am trying to forget about this BS.)
I will post the company's name here and I strongly advise not using them!

The extra costs came from going to a mechanic to see what was the strange noise, car rental for 3 weeks, and other BS that I can't remember right now.

But be careful, price is not everything. Go with someone highly recommended!!! I wish I knew of one.

I recently sold my 1970 454cu corvette and had it shipped from NJ to Ft Lauderdale, Florida.
I used Exotic Car Transport www.exoticcartransport.com . I cant say enough good things about this company they were on time for pick up and had one of the most beautiful tractor trailers you could lay eyes on. Before the driver put my car on the trailer which is enclosed (exactly the same type of trailer they use in Nascar and Cart etc) he examined every detail of the car and noted every little scratch, tiny dent and smudge mark on the car then had me sign the paper. If there was any other scratches on the car he would be responsible for it
The car arrived in 3 days in perfect condition door to door. cost $750.00 This is the only company that I would trust with my car.

Oh..... on the truck riding along with my car was a Ferrari Testarossa, Shelby Cobra, BMW 850, and a sweet 69 Chevelle.

Sometimes I do miss the sound of that big block firing up, oh and the torque, here are some numbers when we dynoed it at Corvetes at Carlisle,Pa 467hp @ the wheels and 512 lbs of torque. 1/4 mile times with stock tires was mid 12's. Naturally the motor was tweeked a bit, I had it pulled out bored 30 over but a MSD box on , holley 750 carb, Edelbrock Performer Intake, roller rockers, headers, Borla stainless steel exhaust,a wild cam, steel crank oh the list goes on..what a money pit that car was.

I believe that Passport Transport is the best in the business.

They transport many of the Pebble Beach cars to the show each year - like 10-15 trailers worth. That means to me that they are good enough for the S2000.

I was gonna do the AKA Rally this year, and I found a place to ship it from DC back to Cali for just under $800, and that place came recomended. Sorry I forgot the name, I think it could be that passport place. But you should be able to get it shipped for under a grand.

i'm researching this right now as well...

DAS auto seems to be one of the biggest in the industry and price is right (ditto to their $2Mil liab ins. policy)...
