LilJapnBoy, you know that there is an extension on firefox that allows you to right-click to open a link in IE right? If not check it out because I use it whenever I have your problem and its much better.

I've just gotta check with IT if I can put it on the work laptop now that I have admin rights but I've been usng it on the home PC for a while now and updated to V9 (is that the current?) as soon as it was released and I haven't had any bugs with it yet.

austblue, thats not it its v1.0PR (pre release)...

best extention is Firesomething (it changes the name you see in the upper left , its a joke because Mozzila is notorious for changing names to something crazy) right now mine says "Mozzilla Spaceraccoon"

Other good extentions are....

Allow right click.
Ad Block.
Gmail Notifier.
and others but I'm drawing a blank.

I've been using firefox for the last 8 months or so. . . and THANK GOD for Mozilla. My computer is spyware, popup, and "searchbar" free now. I can't believe my firm still mandates IE for all of our internal pages! God, they need to start coding for firefox.

i came across the same thing a few months ago. the pop-ups and spyware were taking over my computer. i actually had to run both adaware and spybot at the same time several times a day everyday. it got really annoying. then i was introduced to firefox and i haven't had any problems with it ever since. plus i love how you have the option of transferring your preferences from IE after you first download it. and i love the tabs function. like you, my firm also uses IE for internal pages. and if i'm on my company email, IE pops up anytime i click on a link. that's a bit annoying.

Dont really know how to answer that. I got it and noticed very little change (which is good, means no problems) The one thing of concern is that after they introduced 1.0PR they came out with a security update. So you may want to find out if you have that update.

If you want to know if there are any updates. All you have to do is look in the top right corner under the "maximize/restore" button. There will be this little icon---> click on that and it will tell you whats what.

Also you have to get the extension "Firesomething" for shits and giggles. Right now I have 2 windows open....

1) "Mozzila Suncrocodile"
2) "Mozzila Powerkoala"

FireFox is nice, but there are ways to control spyware and pop-ups even when using IE. Adaware and Spybot Search & Destroy are only so-so at removing spyware. I've found a program called Pest Patrol to be far superior at getting rid of stubborn spyware, popups, malware, etc. If you're using IE (which I do most of the time), it's more than worth a look.
