I remember seeing a picture awhile back of a guy from MS giving a speech, but he had a Macbook.

Well, I use a PC; have never used a Mac actually.

"I'm a PC" - the whole line is taken from a Mac ad and repeated for 30 seconds. Pretty much what MS has done for the past 30 years, take an Apple idea and co-opt it.

Hell, even the idea of using Seinfield comes from Apple - it used him in this ad years ago - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vNDEwsIGJKI

Just saying....

Still, MS doesn't control its ad companies, and pretty much all ad companies use Macs because of the software platform and reliability.

Anyone remember the MS employee who got fired for posting a picture of MS unloading brand new Macs at its Redmond site? Even MS uses Macs.

thanks for pointing that out. Apple and MS aren't really "direct" competitors. Especially now with bootcamp, MS supports Apple, to MS, Macbooks are just another computer that can support Window's. And Apple's OS hasn't been much of a competitor until their most recent platform OSX. With bootcamp, the ability to support Window's has benefited both MS and Apple.

It amazes me how many people support Apple's reliability. As a designer, I was thinking about getting a Macbook to replace my current Dell laptop, but out of the umpteen friends I have with Macs, about 70% of them have had serious issues with their laptops, several of which had their whole laptops replaced withing the first year of owning it. Meanwhile my "crappy" Dell is still chugging fine at 4.5+ years old.

Maybe, other than the 30% gain in Mac users over each year for the past few years. They were raised on Windows and switched.
