I've been working to renovate my condo for a couple of years now (two bedrooms, two baths). I bought it in Jan 2006. It's located in Arlington, VA and overlooks the Potomac River and the city of Washington, DC. Kitchen and guest bath are done, master bath coming up (start mid-Feb). Renovations are not cheap, but worth it in this location (see sunrise pic below as an example). I have a great contractor to do the work (complete tearout in each case), but I picked out everything myself. I used a kitchen designer to maximize the space for the new kitchen (appliance locations switched around).
