After the riots
King was awarded $3.8 million in a civil case and used some of the proceeds to start a hip hop music label, Straight Alta-Pazz Recording Company.

In May 1991, he was arrested on suspicion of trying to run over a vice officer who allegedly found him with a transvestite prostitute in Hollywood. In 1993, King entered an alcohol rehabilitation program and was placed on probation after crashing his vehicle into a block wall in downtown Los Angeles. In July 1995, he was arrested by Alhambra police, who alleged that he hit his wife with his car, knocking her to the ground. He was sentenced to 90 days in jail after being convicted of hit and run. On August 27, 2003, King was arrested again for speeding and running a red light while under the influence of alcohol. He failed to yield to police officers and slammed his SUV into a house, breaking his pelvis.

On November 29, 2007, while going home King was shot in the face, arms, back and torso with birdshot by two thieves attempting to steal his bicycle, but his injuries were characterized as not life threatening.

King appeared on the second season of Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew, which premiered in October 2008. He will also been seen in Sober House, a Celebrity Rehab spin-off focusing on a sober living environment.

i was in a motorcycle accident. on the freeway i was hit by a CHP. just a short of what happen- i was behind him in the 2nd lane( #1 lane being fastest) for a good 20 seconds. he slows down to about 30 mph, as does all of traffic. all start to pass him, so i signal and moved over the the #1 lane on his left, as soon as i got over, he made a hard left, which put his left quarter panel directly in front of me, i had no where to go but over him. i lost consciousness as we colided. as i came back i was face down on my stomach, helmet still on, couldnt move. i turned my head and saw the officer with his gun pointed right at me, officer says " dont ****ing move, i have my gun drawn on you. needless to say, i didnt move, i couldnt. as another officer jabs his knee in my back and handcuffs me. soon after the ambulance got there i was let out of the cuffs and put on a stretcher, this whole time i was still face down and hadnt moved. as im laying in the hospital, a different officer comes in and gives me a card of where to pick up my motorcycle and tells me im not being charged for anyting. oh well cool thanks for not charging me for anything. i did nothing in the first place!

so court cases and lawsuits all that stuff, my lawyer takes the officers deposition. officer said "i thought the motorcyclist was trying to kill me by ramming his motorycle into my squad car and filling the car with hot oil which would explode". i had witnesses, the cocksucker hit me because he wanted to. and at the time this guy had 3 other accidents and 2 other lawsuits against him. and he is still a california highway patrol officer. excellent. thats who we need to "protect and serve"

they will try to make it seem THEIR life is in danger to justify what theyve done, because law states they can take proper action. i.e shooting that guy

i dont trust any of them, never will. and it will probably only get worse

Seriously.

Family is staying classy by trying to squeeze out as many millions as they can.

To be offensive, not sure if his life would ever amount to $25 million, let alone $5 million. Even I can't make that claim that I would be worth that much.

Not enough of video to see who is right and wrong. The people in the video sure fit the bill for getting shot.

I want to hear the whole story rather than one side. Additionally if the lawyer defended Rodney King I don't give him much credibility, Rodney King was a tool and deserved to be beaten.
That's why he is on celebrity rehab now.
